The process of editing the animatic storyboard allowed us a starting look into editing footage to our song in preparation for our Music Video.
On top of this it showed animated our paper storyboards and showed us how they would look not only with the music but when working in a series of clips.
Animating storyboards is important because otherwise you have to try and mentally picture each individual drawing as part of a sequence playing to the music.
We started by uploading all the clips we filmed of the storyboard and putting them to our song we uploaded.
Whilst playing it through we used the marker tool on final cut pro to mark in the beat on the sound file so that we had a begining of where to edit into.
We then used final cut pro to cut between each storyboard picture on the beat of the song, slowing it down and using the arrow keys to ensure that the cut is precisely on when the beat comes in.
The snapping tool was very useful in this as we could find the beat and place a marker then take the clip we wanted and using snapping get it perfectly lined up with the edge of the previous clip.
